Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver direct patient care in specialty clinics across Texas. This role includes prescriptive authority and credentialing under a supervising physician, with duties spanning assessment, diagnostics, and treatment planning.

Providers work in settings guided by evidence-based medicine, collaborating with physicians and team members to optimize patient outcomes and cost-effective care.

Qualifications

• Texas PA license required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Current NCCPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
• Prescribes or recommends medical drug therapies or other treatments. Performs procedures following approved protocols with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost.
• Formulates and implements comprehensive patient treatment plans based on assessments, evidence-based medicine, and standards of care.
• Counsels patients and families about medical processes, illness management, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
• Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes.
• Provides consultation level services for conditions/problems related to the Provider's specialty and training.
• Manages patients in settings beyond primary clinics and may perform invasive procedures as delegated.
• Performs patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs.
