Job description

The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking to employ an advanced cardiac imaging specialist with skills in structural transesophageal echocardiography.

Required Qualifications:

• MD/DO from an accredited university medical school
• Graduate of an accredited ACGME cardiology residency and subspecialty training in Structural echocardiography, cardiovascular CT, and/or cardiovascular MRI
• Board certified with the ABIM in cardiology and preferred subspecialty certification in advanced imaging
• Ability to obtain a West Virginia medical license and DEA
• Ability to achieve full hospital privileges at Charleston Area Medical Center
• Exceptional collaboration abilities
• Proven clinical skills with experience supporting postgraduate fellowship training in medicine
• Support structural heart physicians with preplanning and procedural imaging for the structural heart program

This opportunity operates out of a dedicated cardiac imaging center with:

• Dedicated cardiac CT (Siemens Force, approximately 600 scans/month)
• Nuclear Medicine - 2 Cardio MDs (around 300 stress and non-stress tests/month)
• Echocardiography - 5 outpatient units (approximately 550 exams/month)
• Dedicated cardiac MRI (Siemens Sola, 1.5T, installed January 2023, currently performing about 80 scans/month)
• Heart Flow Program - Recognized with quarterly quality awards, utilizing direct flow pathway
• Structural TEE program supporting TAVR, Mitral Clip, Watchman, PFO/ASD Closure procedures
