Qualifications

• 1 year medical office experience with scheduling, collection, and CPT-4 coding (charge entry) or 3+ years of customer-facing experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative coverage for patient service functions related to check-out operations.
• Collect and process encounter form data and balance payments for services rendered.
• Balance work and computer at end of day.
• Answer telephone calls and route as needed.
• Update and record changes in patient information.
• Understand insurance procedures and plan participation.
• Ensure fee slips reflect correct procedures and diagnoses for charge entry.
• Schedule return visits and end-of-day procedures; balance tasks.
• Compile data for billing personnel.
• Participate in meetings and quality improvement initiatives as directed.
• Collaborate with patients, physicians, and care team members as part of a team-based approach.
