Job summary

Northbay Health is seeking a Physician Assistant, Heart & Vascular, to join the Cardiology Clinic as part of a multidisciplinary team. The PA works under a licensed physician, following protocols and collaborating with the supervising physician.

Scheduling involves a vascular surgery, OR-facing role with one day of post-op appointments weekly; 5 eight-hour shifts. Requirements include CA PA licensure, NCCPA board certification, CPR, and DEA license; experience in vascular or cardiology preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NCCPA-approved PA program.
• Current CA PA licensure.
• NCCPA board certification required.
• AHA or equivalent CPR required.
• DEA license for Schedule II drugs.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and updates patient history.
• Formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan as appropriate for patient needs.
• Orders ancillary services as appropriate to meet patient needs.
• Reviews all patient diagnostic test results and follows-up on abnormal test results.
• Requests specialty consultation as approved by the supervising physician.
• Provides patient education as appropriate.
• Provides treatments and procedures as appropriate.
• Assists in clinical management and works with clinic team to ensure appropriate services.
• Counsels patients to support adherence to treatment plans.
• Notifies supervising physician when referral or transfer is needed for urgent care.
