Job summary

Essen Health Care is seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to support our growing outpatient cardiology service line in New York. The role collaborates with cardiologists and clinical staff to deliver patient-centered cardiovascular care in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of outpatient cardiology experience, NY NP license, and board certification (ANCC or AANP). Strong communication and clinical judgment are essential.

Qualifications

• Active NY Nurse Practitioner license.
• Minimum 1 year outpatient cardiology NP experience.
• Board certification (ANCC or AANP).
• Active DEA license or eligibility.
• Strong cardiovascular disease management knowledge.
• Excellent communication and clinical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history, exams, and risk stratification
• Manage patients with hypertension, heart failure, CAD, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia
• Order, interpret, and review tests (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter, labs)
• Develop treatment plans with cardiology physicians
• Prescribe medications and adjust therapies per guidelines
• Provide patient education on disease management and adherence
• Document encounters in the EMR
• Coordinate care with imaging and ancillary services
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and protocols
