Job summary

Essen Health Care seeks a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to support our growing outpatient cardiology service line in New York. The NP will work with cardiologists and staff to deliver patient-centered cardiovascular care.

Requirements include NY NP license, 1 year outpatient cardiology experience, and board certification (ANCC or AANP). DEA active or eligible is required. Knowledge of cardiovascular disease management and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in NY.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient cardiology Nurse Practitioner experience.
• Board certification (ANCC or AANP).
• Active DEA (or eligibility to obtain).
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular disease management.
• Excellent communication and clinical judgment skills.
• Experience in outpatient cardiology or multispecialty practices (preferred).
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems (preferred).
• Experience managing high-volume patient panels (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history, physical exams, and risk stratification
• Manage and follow patients with cardiac conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, CAD, arrhythmias, and hyperlipidemia
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests (EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, labs)
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiology physicians
• Prescribe medications and adjust therapies in accordance with guidelines
• Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modification, and adherence
• Document encounters in the electronic medical record
• Coordinate care with referring providers, imaging, and ancillary services
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and protocols

Job Summary
