Job description

Job Summary: Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Surgery Institute is seeking a full-time physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our growing cardiology practice in the Western Region - Lewistown, Pennsylvania.

Job Duties:

The Advanced Practitioner will have a practice that includes outpatient clinics in Lewistown and inpatient consultations at the assigned base hospital. This position offers no call responsibilities but includes rotating weekend coverage.

The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the supervision of a physician and must have completed an ARC-PA (or predecessor) approved physician assistant program, hold current NCCPA certification or be eligible, and possess Pennsylvania State licensure.

The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will collaborate with a physician and must have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner program or be eligible for national certification for the relevant patient populations and settings. Licensure as a nurse practitioner in Pennsylvania is required.

Position Details:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant studies required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Experience: Relevant experience preferred.
• Certifications & Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants; Nurse Practitioner certification or eligibility.
