Job summary

Wilmington Health Cardiology is seeking a Cardiology NP or PA to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care across outpatient and inpatient settings. You will perform patient assessments, diagnose cardiovascular conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The schedule is balanced (40 hours weekly), with M-F, 8-5 and a 1:5 inpatient to outpatient mix.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted NP or PA licensure in the United States.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as NP/PA in Cardiology or outpatient Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive cardiovascular patient assessments including history, physicals, and interpretation of diagnostic tests (EKG, echocardiograms, stress tests).
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with heart conditions (heart failure, arrhythmias, CAD, hypertension).
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure guideline adherence.

Our Cardiology Nurse Practitioners (NP) or Physician Assistants (PA) plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients across various clinical settings. They conduct detailed patient assessments, diagnosing cardiovascular conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams. Our Advanced Care Practitioners manage both acute and chronic cardiac conditions, ensuring continuity of care through patient education, follow-up, and coordination of diagnostic testing and interventions. By utilizing evidence-based practices and staying current with advancements in cardiology, our practitioners regularly contribute to improving patient outcomes and quality of life. Our Advanced Care Practitioners are essential in supporting our mission to provide compassionate, efficient, and quality inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the United States.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an NP or PA in Cardiology or outpatient Internal Medicine.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology.
  • Ability to perform and interpret cardiovascular diagnostic assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certification such as Acute Care NP or Cardiology PA specialty certification.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telemedicine platforms.
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Completion of continuing education courses focused on the latest cardiology treatments and technologies.
