Job summary

Wilmington Health is seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a collaborative team delivering comprehensive cardiovascular care across outpatient clinics and inpatient settings. You will conduct patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans with cardiology physicians and allied staff.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted NP or PA license in the United States.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an NP or PA in Cardiology or outpatient Internal Medicine.
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology.
• Ability to perform and interpret cardiovascular diagnostic assessments.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with a range of cardiac conditions including heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and hypertension.
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and preventive cardiology to empower patients in their health journey.
• Monitor patient progress through follow-up visits, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and facilitate referrals for advanced interventions or specialty care when indicated.
• Provide first-call general cardiology support for the EP Cardiologist, which includes after hours and weekend work.
