Job summary

The Cardiac & Vascular Institute (TCAVI) in Gainesville, FL, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide cardiovascular care in both hospital and outpatient settings. You will work with cardiologists, APPs, nurses, and staff to evaluate patients, manage treatment plans, and ensure smooth transitions of care.

Qualified candidates will have NP or PA board certification, Florida licensure or eligibility, and a strong interest in cardiovascular medicine.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current national NP or PA certification.
• Florida licensure or eligibility to obtain it.
• Interest in building a long-term career in cardiovascular medicine.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Team-oriented approach to delivering compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outpatient appointments and evaluate hospitalized patients.
• Participate in hospital rounds, cardiology consultations, and post-discharge follow-up.
• Review medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
• Assess acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions and develop treatment plans.
• Order and review laboratory studies, EKGs, cardiac imaging, stress tests, and other tests.
• Manage medications and assess treatment effectiveness.
• Counsel patients and families on cardiovascular health and ongoing care.
• Coordinate with referring providers and the broader care team.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
