Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and ANCC or equivalent for NPs, or NCCPA for PAs.
• Current Georgia licensure as appropriate; may require one year of direct experience in high acuity settings.
• PALS, BLS, or ACLS may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Assists in evaluation and treatment of patients.
• Documents delivery of care in medical records.
• Performs physical examinations and diagnostic procedures under physician supervision.
• Assists physician in diagnosing medical problems and developing care plans.
• Orders and interprets lab tests and diagnostic procedures.
• Educates patients on health, follow-up and home care.
• Tracks and reports patient data for ongoing care plans.
• Trains other health care professionals in procedures.
• Maintains up-to-date patient records and participates in committee activities.
