Cardiologist Opportunity - Wilkes-Barre, PA VA Medical Center

Serving those who have served, caring for our nation's Veterans is a noble calling. Join our team providing compassionate care to Veterans at the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania VA Medical Center.

We are seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Cardiologist to treat and manage patients with general cardiology and supplemental cardiac procedures. Responsibilities include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and patient education related to cardiac conditions.

Core Cardiology Procedures

• Cardiac stress testing
• Cardioversion
• Echocardiogram interpretation
• Holter monitor interpretation
• Emergency pericardiocentesis
• Temporary transvenous pacemaker placement
• Tilt table testing
• Use of thrombolytic agents
• EKG interpretation
• Fluoroscopy

Supplemental Cardiology Procedures

• Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) with interpretation
• TEE with cardioversion
• Nuclear cardiology studies
• Coronary CTA
• Management of Gp IIb/IIIa, vasoactive, and thrombolytic agents

The Cardiologist (Non-Invasive) will provide outpatient and inpatient consultative services within the Wilkes-Barre VA Healthcare System.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be considered if no qualified citizens are available)
• Full unrestricted licensure, certification, or registration in any U.S. state
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology

Work Schedule and Environment
