Assistant Professor – Cardiology Position

Title: Assistant Professor - Cardiac Imaging / Non-Invasive

Location: MUSOM – MU School of Medicine

Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience

Job Description

Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine’s Department of Cardiovascular Services seeks a qualified cardiologist specializing in advanced cardiac imaging to develop its Cardiac MRI program. The team is a close-knit community of physicians, focused on growth and collaboration, with opportunities for intervention and noninvasive cardiology.

  • Provider at one primary site, establishing an MRI program at the institution
  • Rotate at two hospitals and one clinic in Huntington, WV
  • Participate in weekend rounds, EKG, MPI, and echo readings (1:6)
  • Teach cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Engage in collaborative research with biomedical sciences programs
Responsibilities

This role combines clinical care with teaching activities and includes an appointment with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, supporting ACGME-approved cardiology and interventional fellowship programs. The appointment can be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, on a non-tenured clinical track or tenure-track, for qualified applicants.

Minimum Qualifications
  • MD/DO or equivalent, completed accredited cardiology fellowship, with advanced training in CT/MRI
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiology
  • Level 2 or 3 certification in Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CT, and Echocardiography (or plan to obtain)
  • Unrestricted West Virginia medical license
  • Ability to perform all essential duties outlined in the job description
