Job summary

Salem Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Cardiology Clinic located in Salem, Oregon. This Full Time, 40 hours/week, non-exempt role supports cardiac testing protocols, vitals monitoring, and coordination with cardiologists and clinical staff.

You will assist with ECGs, stress tests, lab draws, and patient education while maintaining accurate Epic Ambulatory documentation and proper charge capture. Cardiology experience is preferred, and compensation will reflect market norms in Oregon.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid, current Medical Assistant certification or registration from a nationally recognized credentialing agency.
• Experience in cardiology, urgent care, or family practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments and monitor for critical symptoms; promptly notify providers.
• Gather and document patient histories and vital signs; reassess after interventions.
• Coordinate with cardiologists and clinical staff to ensure seamless care.
• Perform ECGs, stress tests, and lab draws per protocol.
• Perform basic lab testing and ensure safe medication administration.
• Document encounters and test results in Epic Ambulatory.
• Ensure proper charge capture for specialized services.
• Provide discharge education on cardiac care plans, medications, and lifestyle changes.
