Job summary

HSHS Prairie Cardiovascular in Springfield, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech to join the cardiovascular team. The role involves rooming patients, assessing, preparing exam rooms, and coordinating care under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates have a completed Medical Assistant program and MA certification; BLS is required within 60 days of hire. New grads are encouraged to apply for 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience may be considered in lieu of completion.
• MA Certification/Registration required or must be obtained within 90 days from one of the listed organizations.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Room and assess patients; prepare examination rooms.
• Coordinate care under RN supervision; support clinical team.
• Maintain efficient flow in a primary care ambulatory setting in Springfield, IL.
