Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting training program or equivalent.
• Military medical assistant experience (DD214) may apply.
• EMT-A or paramedic is required.

Responsibilities

• Creates a caring environment centered on patient and family.
• Manages patient flow and coordinates with staff for on-date services.
• Prepares charts with medical history, meds, labs and imaging for provider review.
• Records vital signs and patient history; reconciles medications.
• Assists with examinations, tests, and procedures as directed.
• Helps patients set self-management goals and promotes healthy behaviors.
• Monitors referred patients and ensures timely follow-up.
• Reminds patients about preventive services and updates care plans with quality measures.
• Manages outstanding tasks in the EHR and assists with patient inquiries.
• Performs EKGs as ordered and promotes wellness education.
