Job summary

Mass General Brigham, Newton-Wellesley Hospital's Elfers Cardiovascular Center, is hiring a Medical Assistant for a 40-hour, full-time role onsite from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, in Newton, MA. You will support clinical and non-clinical patient services, assist physicians, and help manage patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred
• BLS certification preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist junior Medical Assistants with onboarding training
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment, and interview patients to obtain medical information
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients
• Perform general office duties, answer phones, take dictation, and manage insurance forms
• Collect blood and other specimens; perform phlebotomy if competent
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates
• Provide immunizations as applicable with certification or experience
• Improve departmental quality initiatives such as patient identifiers and hand hygiene
