Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience in medical assisting
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with 1+ years of experience
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assists physicians with procedures
• Performs clinical duties within department standards, policies, and protocols
• Addresses patient and family needs and communicates identified needs to the care team
• Directs patients to exam rooms promptly
• Assists physician/mid-level staff during exams and diagnostic procedures
• Performs vital signs, vision screening, and selected lab tests as directed
• Seeks guidance from physicians or nurses when necessary
• Prepares e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies per policy
• Inspects, cleans, and prepares instruments and equipment
• Processes specimens for transport to the laboratory with proper labeling
