Job summary

The CardioVascular Institute of the Rockies in Denver, CO is seeking a Cardiology Medical Assistant to support provider clinics, room patients, take manual vital signs, obtain ECGs, and document patient history to keep care flowing smoothly.

This fast-paced specialty practice values teamwork, strong communication, and meticulousness. The role may rotate between Denver and Wheat Ridge locations, with opportunities for professional development and excellent patient care confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Cardiology experience is strongly preferred.
• Comfort with patient rooming, vital signs, ECGs, documentation and follow-through.
• Strong communication, organization, time management and prioritization.
• Team player in a fast-paced specialty practice.
• Experience with EMR required; eClinicalWorks preferred.
• Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with check-in, scheduling, phone coverage, e-fax monitoring, and other patient support duties.
• Room patients promptly and prepare them for provider visits and procedures.
• Verify social, medical, surgical histories, allergies, medications and visit reasons.
• Obtain and document blood pressure, pulse oximetry, heart rate, temperature and ECGs.
• Document patient history and vitals in the EMR.
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms, instruments and supplies.
• Place orders and request outside diagnostics and records as directed.
• Coordinate incoming/outgoing medical records, imaging, labs, referrals and authorizations.
• Arrange admissions, pre-admission testing, clearances and lab services as needed.
• Protect patient confidentiality and follow privacy, safety and compliance requirements.
