Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Secretary for the Cardiology department in Danbury. The role combines clinical and clerical duties to support daily operations, patient intake, and documentation in the EMR.

A 1-year MA experience or MA certification, EMT certification, or 3 years of related patient-care experience are acceptable. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with a $2,000 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Data entry required and accurate patient information collection.
• HS diploma or GED with MA/Secy experience or completion of MA program.
• CPR certification is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Basic medical knowledge and terminology; proficient vital signs measurement.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort them to the clinical area; obtain vital signs and medications.
• Transcribe and update patient demographics and medical history in the EMR.
• Prepare patient charts and complete related paperwork for providers.
• Coordinate orders and testing; ensure timely patient flow.
• Maintain clean, stocked examination areas and assist with in-office procedures.
• Assist with specimen collection and documentation; support environmental rounds.
