Guthrie seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to assist physicians within the full scope of licensure. This role provides coverage for Sayre, Owego, Vestal, Troy and Towanda with mileage reimbursement.

Your duties include directing patients to exam rooms, documenting vitals, preparing medications and referrals, and supporting department operations. You will maintain cleanliness, train in computer systems, and assist in procedures as required.

Qualifikationen

• LPN – Must be licensed in the state of practice.
• One-year healthcare experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medications.
• Able to read and discuss pathology results with patients.

Aufgaben

• Directs patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam by recording vitals and history.
• Writes or calls Rx after authorization and documents in patient chart.
• Handles referrals via email, fax, or phone and tracks referral numbers.
• Assists in department operations by covering for other LPNs and MOA’s and performing clerical tasks.
• Maintains exam/procedure rooms, ensures supplies are stocked, and orders medications or supplies.
• Administers injections/medications and records in chart.
• Routes patient for ancillary testing and records lab results.
• Maintains infection control measures and uses autoclave sterilization.
• Maintains knowledge of surgical instruments and prepares trays for procedures.
• Assists surgeon with operative procedures as needed.
• Assesses signs of infection and communicates with surgeon/provider.
• Hepatitis checks and safety protocols for staff.
