Job summary

Route 66 Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Veterinary Cardiologist to establish and grow a Cardiology service within a high-volume, 24/7 emergency hospital. The position offers autonomy to shape equipment, workflows, and future service development, in collaboration with Emergency Medicine and other specialties.

You’ll be part of Ethos Veterinary Health, with access to mentorship, education, and regional specialty collaboration to advance cardiac care

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Cardiology or Residency Training in Cardiology.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with a passion for advancing cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Establish and develop Route 66’s Cardiology service.
• Build a diverse cardiology caseload within a 24/7 emergency hospital.
• Perform advanced cardiac diagnostics and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and other specialty services.
• Build relationships with referring veterinarians throughout Albuquerque and the region.
• Participate in mentorship, continuing education, and professional development through Ethos network.
