Job description

The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology at this prestigious university is seeking a board-certified invasive, interventional cardiologist to join a collaborative group of academic cardiologists. The division includes an established cardiovascular disease fellowship training program, an ICAEL-accredited Echo lab, an ICANL-accredited Nuclear Lab, and the region's only Level I Trauma Center. Cardiac invasive and interventional services and a comprehensive cardiac surgery program are available. Commitment to clinical service and teaching duties are the highlights of this position. Research opportunities and faculty mentoring are also available.

Faculty expectations include:

1. Cath lab: performing and supervising fellows in diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures, head-up tilt table testing, and device implantations as applicable per qualifications.
2. Non-invasive lab: supervision and reading of nuclear stress test studies, including supervision of fellows and house staff.
3. Outpatient Cardiology Clinic: covering a wide patient referral base and supervising cardiology fellows in outpatient clinics.
4. Inpatient and consult services: supervision and instruction of medical students, internal medicine and family medicine residents, and cardiovascular disease fellows.
5. Interdisciplinary teams: collaborating with other providers, trainees, and staff on quality initiatives, including the cardiothoracic surgery Heart Team quality improvement project.
