Coos Bay, Oregon, Interventional Cardiologist Job
Clinical Role:
- The interventional cardiologist will share responsibilities seeing inpatient hospital patients, seeing clinic patients, rotating into the cardiac Cath Lab schedule, covering an imaging rotation, and sharing both general and interventional call.
- Privileges include the ability to assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with policies regarding emergency and consultative call services. The core privileges in the specialty include procedures such as intracoronary foreign body retrieval, infusion of pharmacologic agents including thrombolytics, mechanical thrombectomy, and others listed below.
- Procedures include intracoronary stents, balloon angioplasty, intracoronary ultrasound (IVUS), Doppler, flow and pressure wire usage, management of complications, rotational atherectomy, and use of vasoactive agents, among others.
- Additional privileges may be requested for carotid stenting, endovascular grafts, pacemaker implantation, and other devices based on experience and training.
- The role requires maintaining punctual attendance, exercising good judgment, demonstrating critical thinking, and working effectively under stress.
- Candidates must have performed at least 150 percutaneous coronary interventions in the past 24 months, with current physical and mental ability to perform privileges, and must have completed an accredited training program or equivalent experience.
