Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care System in Hermiston, Oregon seeks an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic echocardiography under a Cardiologist, using ultrasound to assess cardiac structures and function.

The role requires RDCS or RCS, BLS, 1 year of Echo Tech experience (3 preferred), and the ability to perform TTE, TEE, and stress echo with a focus on accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program focused on Cardiac Sonography.
• RDCS or RCS certification and BLS.
• Minimum 1 year Echo Tech experience; 3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic (TTE), transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiograms as ordered.
• Operate ultrasound and diagnostic imaging equipment to acquire high-quality cardiac images.
• Analyze echocardiographic data and prepare preliminary findings for interpreting Cardiologist.
• May start and manage IV lines for contract echocardiography when credentialed.
• Collaborate with Cardiologist and healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and safety.
• Review images for clarity and diagnostic value.
• Maintain accurate patient records in PACS/EMR and report malfunctions.
