Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Cardiology team at South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY. The role supports patient triage, vital signs, EKGs, injections, and EHR documentation to ensure smooth clinical workflow.

You will assist physicians in exam rooms, schedule follow-ups, maintain supply levels, and help with basic procedures. A High School diploma or GED is required, with a Medical Assisting degree preferred and BLS certification expected.

Qualifications

• Medical Assisting degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history and triage patients.
• Record vitals and patient information in the EHR.
• Perform EKGs and injections as ordered.
• Assist physician in examinations and minor procedures.
• Schedule tests, surgeries, and hospital admissions.
• Explain procedures to patients and families.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and scheduling boards.
• Document and track patient follow-ups in the EHR.
