Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for AMG Cardiology in Union, NJ. The role covers full-time days (9a-5p) with direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision, supporting a busy cardiology practice.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, and assisting with examinations. Strong communication and professionalism are essential, along with BLS and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
• Preferred: 1 year of health care experience; 2+ years in outpatient setting.
• BLS upon hire; EPIC or similar EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision.
• Handle patient intake, update records, and record vital signs.
• Assist with examinations and prepare lab specimens as directed.
• Greet patients, schedule appointments, and maintain medical records.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and stock supplies; ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Support referrals to specialists and communicate with care team.
