Job summary

Virginia Heart is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator for our outpatient cardiology setting in Northern Virginia. The role involves planning, directing, and analyzing cardiac drug and device trials while maintaining GCP/ICH guidelines and FDA regulations.

The position requires 3+ years of clinical and coordination experience, strong organization, and proficiency with EMR systems such as EPIC, plus MS Office tools. No evenings or weekends included in schedule; comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years prior clinical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years prior clinical research study coordination experience (preferably cardiology).
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory document collection and IRB interaction.
• Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills, team player able to work independently.
• EMR experience, EPIC a plus; proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Monitors study activities to ensure protocol compliance and regulatory policies.
• Assesses eligibility of potential patients via screening interviews and medical record review.
• Obtains informed consent and educates patients as required.
• Records adverse events and reports to investigators and oversight bodies.
• Prepares for quality audits by sponsors or regulators.
• Identifies protocol problems and assists in resolutions.
• Prepares study documents, budgets and progress reports.
