Position Summary

The Cardiology Clinic Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations and performance of the cardiology clinic, including staffing, patient access, quality, compliance, financial performance, and patient experience. This position provides leadership and oversight to ensure efficient clinic workflows, timely coordination of cardiology services and diagnostic testing, effective support of providers and staff, and delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

The Cardiology Clinic Manager works collaboratively with cardiologists, advanced practice providers, clinical teams, hospital departments, and administrative leaders to promote operational excellence, regulatory readiness, service-line growth, and achievement of organizational goals.

Essential Functions
  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of the cardiology clinic, ensuring efficient and effective workflows.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational processes that support patient access, quality, safety, and service excellence.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and performance management for clinic staff.
  • Manage staffing levels, schedules, productivity, and resource utilization to meet operational and patient care needs.
  • Partner with cardiologists and advanced practice providers to support effective provider workflows and clinical operations.
  • Coordinate cardiology services, diagnostic testing, referrals, and other patient care activities to promote timely access and continuity of care.
  • Monitor patient access, scheduling, throughput, and other operational metrics and develop improvement strategies as needed.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Monitor financial performance, including staffing expenses, productivity, supplies, and other operational costs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance the patient experience, and support service-line growth.
  • Collaborate with hospital departments and organizational leaders to resolve operational issues and improve coordination of care.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate onboarding, training, competency development, and ongoing performance evaluation of staff.
  • Assist with strategic planning and implementation of initiatives designed to grow and strengthen cardiovascular services.
  • Maintain regulatory readiness and ensure appropriate documentation and adherence to applicable policies and standards.
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports or recommendations for leadership.
  • Address patient concerns and service issues in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner.
  • May be expected to function as a working manager and provide direct operational support when necessary to maintain clinic operations and patient care needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – License, Education and/or Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, ambulatory clinic management, physician practice management, or related healthcare management experience required.
  • Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular services, specialty clinic operations, or hospital-based outpatient services preferred.
  • Clinical background in nursing, allied health, cardiology services, or medical practice operations preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and directly related management experience may be considered in meeting the education and experience requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong understanding of ambulatory clinic operations, patient access, staffing, and workflow management.
  • Ability to analyze operational and financial data and use information to drive decision-making.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, patients, and organizational leaders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, quality improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and other healthcare information systems preferred.
Compensation

The anticipated compensation range for this position is $34.00–$39.10 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and other applicable factors. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Additional compensation may be available in the form of discretionary incentive or other compensation programs. Any such additional compensation is not guaranteed and is determined at the sole discretion of the organization based on applicable program terms, individual and/or organizational performance, and other eligibility requirements.
