Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an ambulatory advanced practice provider (APP) to deliver patient- and family-centered cardiovascular care in the East Providence Providence area. The role involves managing a daily panel of 14-16 patients across a 10-hour shift, with collaboration among cardiologists to ensure high-quality, guideline-driven care.

Qualifications

• Requires physician assistant or nurse practitioner master's degree with current board certification (NCCPA/ANCC/AANP)
• Current Rhode Island license and DEA license
• BLS and ACLS certifications

Responsibilities

• Delivers high-quality, cost-effective care incorporating guideline-directed medical therapy in a timely and equitable manner.
• Demonstrates advanced cardiac knowledge to care for patients in ambulatory setting.
• Implements primary and secondary prevention for cardiovascular disease and episodic care.
• Performs routine history and physical exams with interpretation of labs, EKGs, CXR, stress tests, and echocardiograms.
• Collaborates with the care team and participates in team-based care.
• Participates in billing/coding and uses EHR/LifeChart effectively.
• Educates and mentors APP students and new staff.
• Leads in development and evaluation of standards, policies, and procedures; completes safety trainings.
• Manages a daily patient panel and coordinates care across settings.
