POSITION SUMMARY

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, performs a variety of specialized technical duties involving the sonograph and physiological pressure monitoring systems; and performs other related duties as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Possession of A.A. degree in related cardiopulmonary health science or closely allied health field is desired or post high school vocational/specialized training.

Experience

Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred as cardiovascular technician in an acute care hospital setting preferably in cardiac echo/vascular sonography department.

Licensure/Certification

BLS certification.

Certified in vascular and cardiac ultrasound

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

• Anatomy and Physiology.
• Ultrasonography of the heart and vascular anatomy.
• Diagnostic and monitoring equipment.
• Ultrasound techniques and examinations
• Report writing.
