Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support the OR by providing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting the surgeon while caring for patients.

Requires a surgical technologist program graduate with a GED or high school diploma; NBSTSA/AST or NCCT certification within 1 year and BLS; less than 1 year of experience.

This is a 0.90 FTE schedule with 3-12 shifts, Fridays to Sundays, in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma required and graduate of surgical technologist program.
• Certification from NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or AST or NCCT within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Less than 1 year of surgical technologist experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures.
• Care, handling and maintenance of basic surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Provide patient care in the operating room and clinical setting.
