Responsibilities

  • Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment in the cath lab to ensure high-quality imaging and data capture.
  • Prepare patients and assist with transfers and room setup/cleanup.
  • Maintain correct patient identification in imaging archives for EP procedures.
  • Monitor ECG and pressure waveforms; document events and supplies in Meditech.
  • Report unit activities and issues to the manager and follow through with actions.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will be at the forefront of cardiac care, utilizing cutting-edge imaging technology to directly impact life-saving diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Every day, you will expertly perform specialized interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under physician guidance, meticulously preparing patients, operating advanced radiologic equipment, and contributing critical data for interpretation. You'll ensure the safe, efficient operation of all equipment while maintaining mastery of the latest standards and protocols.

To be successful in this role, you will combine advanced technical proficiency in cardiovascular imaging with a meticulous eye for detail, a commitment to patient safety, and a drive for continuous learning within a dynamic and collaborative Cath Lab team.

  • Works with fellow staff to assure patient procedures are completed timely and professionally.
  • Assists with transfer of patients and room preparation and cleaning.
  • Responsible to operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment in the EP suite to ensure quality imaging and appropriate data capture.
  • Maintains proper patient identification of the various imaging archival systems associated with EP procedures.
  • Monitors and records ECG and pressure waveforms during the procedure, demonstrates knowledge of the normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy and physiology for adult and geriatric patients, records key events during procedures, and enters supplies and charges accurately using the hospital Meditech system.
  • Informs the Manager or designee regarding current unit activities, problems, and actions through oral and written reports, and follows through with action items as a result of reporting.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Technical School Graduate from an approved Radiological Technology Program.
  • Advanced training or licensure equivalent to ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV).
  • One year minimum cath lab and interventional radiology experience with both scrub and monitor.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days.
Preferred
  • Minimum three years current hands-on X-ray and scrub experience within an interventional EP Lab.
