Job summary

Carle Health seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support RN staff in caring for high-acuity patients. The role involves medication administration, IV piggyback fluids, and assisting with trach and NG tube care. You will document assessments and help develop care plans after the initial RN evaluation.

Qualified candidates hold an LPN diploma with an active license and BLS, and are ready to collaborate with physicians and APRs to coordinate patient care across shifts.

Qualifications

• LPN license (IDFPR) or equivalent required
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA)
• College diploma as LPN required

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks/fluids (excludes IV Push meds)
• Charts initial and ongoing assessments and updates care plans after RN assessment
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate patient care
• Perform dressing changes, tracheostomy care, NG tube care and feedings as needed
• Care for ostomies and reinforce discharge instructions
