Position Summary

We are seeking a Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer for NYU Langone South Shore Cardiology in North Babylon. The successful candidate will perform vascular ultrasound studies including carotid, arterial, venous, and abdominal aorta exams following departmental guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform vascular sonograms as specified.
• Ensure patient comfort and prepare equipment accordingly.
• Adhere to organizational service standards and departmental procedures.
• Interact professionally with patients, explain procedures, and maintain privacy.
• Maintain and sterilize equipment, notify supervisors of issues.
• Document procedures accurately and communicate findings to physicians.
• Utilize patient history and demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathology.
• Assess and critique echocardiograms, monitor changes, and assist in emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree in a related field, completion of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent experience. RDCS and RVT certifications required within one year of hire. Current BLS certification is also required.

Required Licenses

Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Vascular Technologist, among others.

Preferred Qualifications

American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification preferred.
