Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams of cardiac and vascular structures at the Birmingham site. You will operate ultrasound equipment, optimize image quality, and ensure accurate documentation for PACS.

The role requires BLS and professional credentials in cardiac/vascular imaging. The department emphasizes safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in a busy cardiology setting.

Qualifications

• BLS Certification required or within 30 days of hire.
• Cardiac/vascular credentials through CCI or ARRT/ARDMS accepted.
• ARRT radiography or sonography credentials acceptable.
• RDCS/VT credential within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams of cardiac and vascular structures.
• Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment and transducers.
• Ensure image quality and proper patient data for PACS submission.
• Maintain safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in department organization and equipment maintenance.

Education
