Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando seeks an experienced cardiovascular sonography trainer to lead staff and student education across modalities and accreditation standards. The role designs and implements programs, coordinating courses with internal resources.

The ideal candidate will have extensive cardiac, fetal, and vascular ultrasound experience, BLS, and RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RVS credentials, plus leadership or teaching background.

Qualifications

  • Cardiac sonography training experience and accreditation familiarity.
  • MS Office proficiency including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across education levels.
  • Professional conduct and composure under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments.
  • Knowledge of organizing cardiac sonography training programs.
  • Knowledge of accreditation and regulatory standards.
  • BLS required; RDMS/RDCS/RVT/RVS certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Train staff and students in cardiovascular modalities and protocols.
  • Collaborate with multi-campus system leadership teams.

Job Description:

Trains staff sonographers and sonography students in cardiovascular modalities and protocols according to accreditation standards.Collaborates effectively with multi-campus system leadership teams. Ensures cardiovascular imaging guidelines are adhered to and relevant to the diagnosis for various ultrasound modalities. Implements and designs programs for sonography areas. Provides training, development of techniques, and education for cardiovascular sonography. Coordinates clinical practice and continuing diagnostic cardiovascular sonography education courses using external and internal resources. Acts as the cardiovascular sonography subject matter expert in scope of practice, sonography registry requirements, and accreditation agencies expectations. Conducts training, innovation, development, adoption, and integration of diagnostic cardiovascular sonography techniques. Continually improves the cardiovascular sonography program using research, registry, professional practice guidelines, and best practices. Acts as a resource for cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals.Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to perform Cardiac Sonography, including complex studies [Required]
  • Computer and word processing skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint [Required]
  • Effective oral and written communication skills across a variety of education levels [Required]
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude, professional conduct and composure under pressure [Required]
  • Ability to perform concomitant assignments in a timely manner and accommodate rapidly changing priorities [Required]
  • Knowledge and skill in organizing and maintaining Cardiac Sonography Training Program [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of the Pediatric Accreditation Process [Preferred]
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (CMS, DNV, OSHA, specialty standards) [Preferred]
Education:
  • Associate [Preferred]
  • Bachelor's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
  • in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Healthcare related field
Work Experience:
  • 5+ performing complex sonography [Required]
  • Experience in Fetal Sonography AND Vascular Ultrasound [Preferred]
  • Experience providing sonographer training [Required]
  • Prior leadership experience and/or teaching experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) [Required] OR
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) [Required]
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) [Preferred]
  • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) [Preferred]
  • Registered Radiology Technologist (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) [Preferred]
