Job summary

AdventHealth seeks an experienced professional to train staff and students in cardiovascular sonography, developing and coordinating education programs across campuses. You will serve as a subject matter expert, aligning curricula with registry requirements and accreditation standards while collaborating with leadership.

The role emphasizes program development, leadership in teaching, and ongoing improvement of cardiovascular sonography education for clinicians and sonographers.

Qualifications

• Experience in cardiac sonography training or education.
• Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across varied education levels.
• Professional conduct and ability to stay composed under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.
• Knowledge of cardiovascular sonography training programs (preferred).
• Regulatory knowledge (CMS, DNV, OSHA, etc.) (preferred).

Job Description:

Trains staff sonographers and sonography students in cardiovascular modalities and protocols according to accreditation standards.Collaborates effectively with multi-campus system leadership teams. Ensures cardiovascular imaging guidelines are adhered to and relevant to the diagnosis for various ultrasound modalities. Implements and designs programs for sonography areas. Provides training, development of techniques, and education for cardiovascular sonography. Coordinates clinical practice and continuing diagnostic cardiovascular sonography education courses using external and internal resources. Acts as the cardiovascular sonography subject matter expert in scope of practice, sonography registry requirements, and accreditation agencies expectations. Conducts training, innovation, development, adoption, and integration of diagnostic cardiovascular sonography techniques. Continually improves the cardiovascular sonography program using research, registry, professional practice guidelines, and best practices. Acts as a resource for cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals.Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to perform Cardiac Sonography, including complex studies [Required]
• Computer and word processing skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint [Required]
• Effective oral and written communication skills across a variety of education levels [Required]
• Ability to maintain a professional attitude, professional conduct and composure under pressure [Required]
• Ability to perform concomitant assignments in a timely manner and accommodate rapidly changing priorities [Required]
• Knowledge and skill in organizing and maintaining Cardiac Sonography Training Program [Preferred]
• Knowledge of the Pediatric Accreditation Process [Preferred]
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (CMS, DNV, OSHA, specialty standards) [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate [Preferred]
• Bachelor's [Preferred]

Field of Study:

• in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Healthcare related field

Work Experience:

• 5+ performing complex sonography [Required]
• Experience in Fetal Sonography AND Vascular Ultrasound [Preferred]
• Experience providing sonographer training [Required]
• Prior leadership experience and/or teaching experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) [Required] OR
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) [Required]
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) [Preferred]
• Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) [Preferred]
• Registered Radiology Technologist (R.T.(R)(ARRT)) [Preferred]
