Job summary

UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA is hiring part-time Cardiac Transporters to support the Transportation Services Department. You will safely transport patients and equipment across hospital units, walking approximately seven miles daily while engaging with patients to uphold quality care.

Position requires rotating shifts, seven consecutive training days (weekdays) with daylight hours from 8am to 3pm, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required (AHA/BLS)
• Previous patient transport experience preferred
• Knowledge of hospital terminology helpful

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and equipment safely and efficiently between hospital units.
• Deliver supplies, equipment, and medications to designated areas.
• Assist with entering and retrieving patient information in clinical systems as needed.
• Interact with patients in a courteous, professional manner and maintain patient comfort.
• Prioritize STAT electrocardiograms and coordinate with unit staff for urgent cases.
• Safely transfer patients in and out of hospital beds and assist with mobility as required.
