Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; monitor technician experience preferred.
• Specialized training in cardiac rhythm interpretation is preferred.
• BLS certification required; cardiology/ECG competencies must be completed.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR/charting systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and document findings in EMR; print strips and report rhythm changes.
• Provide patient reports to physicians, nurses, and oncoming staff; notify nurse of lethal arrhythmias.
• Export and print 12‑lead ECGs as requested; perform cardiac device interrogations.
• Assist in orientation of new staff; serve as a resource and role model.
• Maintain census and bed status; manage unit clerical tasks and supplies.
