Job summary

The University of California San Diego is seeking a Telemetry Technician to support the Medical ICU. This dual-hybrid role combines direct patient care with remote cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation under the supervision of the on-duty charge nurse.

Responsibilities include observing patients, assisting with bathing and skin care, preventing device removal, reporting rhythm variances to nursing staff, and coordinating with the RN for additional care as directed.

Qualifications

• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• Successful completion of a telemetry technician course/and or ECG training course.
• Recent Telemetry Technician experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with all levels of staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient rhythm and report variances to nursing staff.
• Assist with bathing and routine skin care; provide other care as directed by the RN.
• Observe patients and prevent removal of medical tubes/equipment; ensure patient safety.
• Call for additional assistance as needed and coordinate with team for patient needs.
