Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care on the assigned unit.
• Assists in developing and supporting unit-level improvements to deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care.
• Provides direct patient care along with supervision to assigned personnel and assists with orientation.
• Conducts performance appraisals, monitors absenteeism, orders supplies, and schedules 24-hour staffing.
• Addresses performance problems and initiates disciplinary processes as appropriate.
• Communicates pertinent information regarding patient care activities to appropriate personnel.
• Participates in formulation of nursing policies and goals and policies affecting other departments.
• Interprets policies, procedures and regulations to patients, visitors and staff.
• Communicates significant unit issues to Operations Manager in a timely manner.
• Supports Magnet philosophies, including healthy work environment and professional growth.
• Provides feedback to staff and managers for professional practice and promotes evidence-based practices.
• Serves as a resource for unit issues, mentors staff, delegates actions, and creates an environment of participation.
• Ensures staff meets regulatory requirements and efficient use of resources.
• Assists with addressing patient/family concerns and follows up on incidents on the unit.

Education

Enrollment in Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Required)

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)

Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)
