Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health seeks an Acute Care RN for a 7S cardiac telemetry unit specializing in heart failure management in Des Moines, IA. New grads may train in VAD after six months; experienced nurses receive VAD training after orientation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong language, math, and critical thinking abilities; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective, and culturally competent care for acute medical/surgical patients on a telemetry unit.
• Lead and coordinate care with LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other team members.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health care disciplines to plan care and outcomes.
• Initiate and reassess the plan of care; discharge planning and education.
