Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Monitor Technician to observe arrhythmia and ECG readings, communicate changes to nursing staff, and prepare graphs and reports for inpatient use. You will operate ECG equipment, verify lead placement, and ensure timely documentation and data entry, with responsibilities across the cardiac monitoring workflow.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, formal EKG/arrhythmia training (20 hours), Basic Life Support, and reliable communication.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Observe cardiac rhythm of patients on monitor.
• Run and post rhythm stripes at designated intervals.
• Interpret rhythms and validate computer readout.
• Notify nursing staff of any change in cardiac rhythm.
• Obtain STAT ECGs in the in-patient setting.
• Provides EKGs and prepares cardiac monitoring setup as required.
