Job summary

Danbury Hospital is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Tech to participate in continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring on a nursing unit or central monitoring center. The role requires competency in rhythm interpretation and telemetry lead placement, with escalation to the nurse in charge for significant changes.

Applicants should have a HS Grad or equivalent, BLS competency, and at least six months of relevant experience. Acute care experience and prior dysrhythmia training are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Grad or equivalent is required.
• Maintain competency for Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Minimum six months experience in a related role.
• Acute care experience and prior dysrhythmia recognition course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and notify staff of variances.
• Assist with lead placement and skin preparation for accurate telemetry.
• Escalate rhythm changes to RN and follow proper chain of communication.
• Maintain the central monitoring system and perform routine system troubleshooting.
• Keep telemetry equipment and supplies inventory current.
• Adhere to organizational behavioral standards and protect patient confidentiality.
• Attend staff meetings and review meeting minutes as required.
