Job summary

CHI St Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR seeks a Cardiac Telemetry Nurse to care for patients with life-threatening cardiac events and post-procedural needs. You will monitor vitals, support families, and collaborate with cardiologists, EKG techs, and other cardiovascular staff in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll have opportunities for continuing education, participate in a clinical ladder, and can receive relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Active Arkansas RN license required.
• 12 months acute care experience required (new grads through residency program).
• ACLS within 6 months; BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for assigned patients.
• Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vitals, prep for procedures, educate patients and families, document promptly.
• Collaborate with social work, care coordination, PT/OT, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging.
• Utilize Nurse Driven protocols enabling some autonomy for the nurse.
• Evaluate and implement treatment plans for heart failure patients.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Cardiac Telemetry Nurse at CHI St Vincent Infirmary, you’ll care for patients who may have life-threatening cardiac events, post-procedural and receive patients from the Cath Lab PACU while helping their families navigate daily care and the long-term plan for healing and maintenance outside of the hospital. You’ll never have the same day twice as your patients’ needs evolve. That’s why you must be adaptable and detail-oriented, observing vitals and reporting the warning signs early to our multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, EKG techs, and other cardiovascular professionals. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to go the extra mile for your patients, utilization of critical thinking skills and your strong assessment skills. To further support your nursing career, we offer continuing education opportunities to help you advance your clinical nursing skills.

• Provides assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for assigned patients.
• Administer medications, change therapeutic dressings, monitor vital signs, prep patients for procedural interventions, educate both patient and families regarding the disease process and procedural intervention, and chart with timely documentation
• Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy, and imaging
• Utilization of multiple Nurse Driven protocols allowing some autonomy for the prudent nurse
• Evaluation and implementation of the treatment plan for the heart failure patient population

We are offering a sign on bonus up to $25,000 to hires who meet the eligibility requirements. We also offer additional pay for participation in our clinical ladder as well as referral bonuses, excellent benefits, tuition reimbursement and relocation assistance.

Job Requirements

• Unencumbered license to practice in the State of Arkansas
• 12 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program)
• Previous cardiac experience preferred, but not required
• BLS through the American Heart Association, within 30 days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months
