Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville seeks a Monitor Technician to surveil patient cardiac monitors, promptly notifying clinicians of rhythm changes and rate shifts. You will act as gatekeeper for telemetry, initiating and discontinuing monitoring as patients are admitted, transferred, or discharged.

This role supports SPOT (Sepsis Prevention and Optimization of Therapy) alerts and provides training and troubleshooting to the Central Monitoring area.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient cardiac monitors and notify clinicians of rhythm changes.
• Rotate SPOT monitoring and manage telemetry equipment on admission, transfer or discharge.
• Serve as a training and troubleshooting resource for Central Monitoring.
• Maintain ongoing surveillance and report alerts to appropriate units.
