Job summary

High Desert Heart & Vascular is seeking a Cardiac Technician to join the cardiovascular care team in Meridian, Idaho. The role provides clinical and diagnostic support to physicians and advanced practice providers, assists with patient assessment, cardiovascular testing, education, monitoring programs, and care coordination to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for clinic visits, examinations, and cardiovascular testing.
  • Obtain vitals, histories, medications reconciliation, and cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Perform and document 12-lead ECG/EKG testing.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient flow.
  • Provide patient education regarding cardiovascular conditions, treatments, medications, testing, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Recognize and escalate urgent patient concerns or abnormal findings.
  • Assist with cardiac stress testing and related diagnostic procedures.
  • Support ambulatory monitoring programs, including Holter monitors, event monitors, and mobile cardiac telemetry devices.
  • Instruct patients on proper monitor use and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure diagnostic equipment is properly maintained and prepared for patient use.
  • Collect and document testing information accurately within the electronic medical record.

Position Summary

The Cardiac Technician serves as an integral member of the cardiovascular care team, providing clinical and diagnostic support to physicians and advanced practice providers. This role assists with patient assessment, cardiovascular testing, patient education, monitoring programs, and care coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
  • Prepare patients for clinic visits, examinations, and cardiovascular testing.

  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient flow.
  • Provide patient education regarding cardiovascular conditions, prescribed treatments, medications, testing, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Recognize and appropriately escalated urgent patient concerns or abnormal findings.
Diagnostic Testing & Monitoring
  • Assist with cardiac stress testing and related cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
  • Support ambulatory monitoring programs, including Holter monitors, event monitors, and mobile cardiac telemetry devices.
  • Instruct patients on proper monitor use and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure diagnostic equipment is properly maintained and prepared for patient use.
  • Collect and document testing information accurately within the electronic medical record.
Care Coordination
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, hospitals, referring offices, and ancillary departments.
  • Assist with prior authorization and cardiovascular testing workflows as assigned.
  • Support quality initiatives, clinical compliance efforts, and performance improvement activities.
