Job summary

Albany Medical Center is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This full-time role includes inpatient care and cross-disciplinary coordination in a high-acuity surgical setting.

Responsibilities include ICU management, 1st/2nd assist in procedures, bedside interventions, and pre-/postoperative care with discharge planning. Candidates should have NCCPA certification, an active PA license, and CT surgery experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program with NCCPA certification.
• Active state PA license and prescriptive authority.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in surgical or hospital acute care, CT Surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to critically ill CT ICU patients.
• Serve as first/second assist in cardiothoracic procedures.
• Perform bedside procedures (thoracentesis, line placements, chest tube).
• Manage pre-, peri-, and postoperative care; discharge planning.
• Lead daily rounds and coordinate care with surgical/medical teams.
