Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for ongoing locum tenens coverage in the Midwest. The role includes operating room first assist duties, perioperative care, clinic coverage, and shared call.

Night shift coverage with travel assistance as needed. The ideal candidate holds active PA or NP certification, a state license, BLS, and at least two years of recent adult cardiac surgery first assist experience.

Qualifications

• Board-certified NP or PA
• Active state license or willingness to obtain licensure
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent adult cardiac surgery first assist experience
• Experience with cardiothoracic surgical procedures and perioperative management
• Epic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• First assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures
• Pre-operative and post-operative patient management
• Surgical consultation and clinic follow-up
• Vein harvesting and procedural support
• Participation in call rotation
• Collaboration with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary care teams
